During its operation, the Digital Skills Hub developed several highly-successful courses and workshops, aimed at increasing digital literacy and opening the doors for further learning. Below you will find basic information on the courses.

The five-week Intermediate Computer Skills Course is designed for anyone who has basic digital knowledge but would like to attain more computer skills and proficiency. The learner will gain valuable online tools that will make their life better and easier.

The five-week Intermediate Pluss Computer Skills Course is for those who’ve mastered the basics and want to take their digital skills further. The course builds on what the learner already knows, enables confidence, and helps them unlock new ways to work smarter online.

A three-hour course designed to enhance Excel skills. Learners with a base knowledge in Excel will learn how to write and apply formulas (from basic to nested), use advanced formatting to present data clearly, and work confidently with large datasets using PivotTables and smart sorting.

Tech Surgery offers one-to-one support for anyone needing help with their device—whether it's setting up apps, managing storage, troubleshooting problems, learning new features or getting online with confidence. Residents sign up for a 30 minute slot and receive dedicated time with a Tech Surgery expert.

Tech Talks—led by Dr. Phil Wilkinson and supported by Bournemouth University Research—are free public events designed to engage diverse audiences in discussions around critical technology topics. Each talk explores a key question or concern surrounding the digital landscape, offering valuable insights and easing anxieties about the impact of technology on our lives.

Tech Tasters are two-hour workshops aimed at introducing learners to the basics of a tech tool or platform. Presented by Bournemouth University's Dr. Phil Wilkinson, Tech Tasters break down the complicated stuff that might be preventing someone from trying new tech, encouraging them to dive in and see how it can change their life.
